Maritime Shipping

The coasters ‘Star Aruba’, ‘Star Bonaire’ and ‘Star Curacao’ represent WDS’s modern, short sea fleet. They are used primarily for shipments of vegetable oils and fats between Rotterdam and a number of major European ports.

The Star Aruba (1,250 tonnes) has been in operation since 1993 and has 10 tanks of 150 m3. The pump and piping system can operate at 350 m3/hour. The tanks and piping are 100% stainless steel.

The Star Bonaire (2,500 tonnes), completed in 1997, has four 495 m3 tanks, four 117 m3 tanks and six 78 m3 tanks. The loading and unloading systems are fully computer-operated, which virtually eliminates the risk of contamination. The tanks and pipes are 100% stainless steel.

The Star Curaçao (3,750 tonnes) has been in operation since 2009. This is the largest of WDS’s three tankers with six 610 m3 tanks, one 293 m3 tank and four deck tanks. The pump and piping system can operate at 450 m3/hour. The tanks and piping are stainless steel. All the equipment is based on patented technology.
